Today, we’ll dive into the Spanish classic: Paella and show you how the Thermomix can simplify these traditionally complex dishes.
A Taste of Spain: The Magic of Paella
No trip to Spain is complete without indulging in a hearty serving of paella. This iconic dish, hailing from the Valencia region, is a symphony of saffron-infused rice, fresh seafood, and tender meats, all cooked to perfection in one pan.
With the Thermomix, preparing paella becomes a breeze. Here’s a simple yet authentic recipe to get you started:
Ingredients:
- 200g onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 50g olive oil
- 200g chicken breast, diced
- 200g chorizo, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 300g paella rice
- 800ml chicken stock
- A pinch of saffron threads
- 200g seafood mix (prawns, mussels, squid)
- 100g peas
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley and lemon wedges for garnish
Instructions:
- Add the onion and garlic to the Thermomix bowl, chop for 5 seconds on Speed 5.
- Add the olive oil and sauté for 5 minutes at 120°C on Speed 1.
- Add the chicken and chorizo, cook for 5 minutes at 120°C on Reverse Speed 1.
- Add the bell pepper, paella rice, chicken stock, and saffron. Cook for 15 minutes at 100°C on Reverse Speed 1.
- Add the seafood mix and peas, cook for an additional 10 minutes at 100°C on Reverse Speed 1.
- Season with salt and pepper, and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.
